Serving Tewksbury for 13 years

How I've served as a Select Board member:

  • Select Board Vice-Chair 2021 - present, Clerk 2019 - 2020

  • Councilor, Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG), Assistant Treasurer 2021

  • Lowell Regional Transit Authority Advisory Board

  • Beautification Committee

  • Chair, Tewksbury Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee

  • Partnering with Lowell 5 to create a Rental and Mortgage Assistance Plan during the pandemic with CARES Act funding

  • General Bylaw Committee

  • Constituent Services - advocating for our Veterans, our Seniors, residents in flooded areas

Additional changes and initiatives I’ve advocated for include:

  • Use of ARPA funds for water distribution updates -- and to reduce water-main breaks

  • Passage of a new $15.8 million central fire station

  • A new $98.5 million elementary school

  • Sidewalk development and funding

  • Senior tax relief for our financially vulnerable elders, securing first-responder funding and taking the lead on regional approaches to transportation, affordable housing, and the unhoused via my work with NMCOG

  • Co-Chair, 100 People Who Care Tewksbury

  • Current member, Tewksbury 9-11 Memorial Committee

  • 2017, elected as the first female Town Moderator in Tewksbury.

  • Senior Warden, Christ Church Andover (Vestry, other), 2011-2020

  • Open Space and Recreation Plan committee

  • Founder, Tewksbury Rail Trails

Each of my roles informs the others and creates opportunities for me to grow and challenge myself and the communities in which I work and thrive. Public service is my passion, and going to work every day is something I truly enjoy. The changing nature of municipal governance, the projects and initiatives, and even the problems, make it exciting.


Previous Service to Tewksbury:

In 2008, after serving on the budget advisory committee, I was elected to the School Committee, where I worked with members and staff to:

  • Lead the then 4,411-student system with a $46 million budget through the Great Recession

  • Work the levers of financial strategy with our School Department staff to increase our Chapter 70 aid and fund a new high school

  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements with our public-sector unions

  • Complete two Superintendent searches
